Jedi going to jail

My friend shared this with me on Facebook. I could not stop laughing as I read it.

SWTOR

Yesterday I received my new computer that I bought off newegg.com. I also ordered Star Wars: the Old Republic with it. I thought it would be a good game to play since I’ve been hearing mainly good things about it.

First off I am a Star Wars fan but that doesn’t mean I love every Star Wars game. This one is amazing from what I have seen so far. I am playing on the Empire side with my friend. I chose a Sith Warrior because I like melee combat more than anything else.

For my first night of playing I really enjoyed the game. Bioware did a good job making gamers feel a connection to their characters. As the story progressed I felt like I did it not just “oh my character did something wooh”. I didn’t have a chance to play with my friend yet so I don’t know how the group experience will be for me but I hope for the best.

I will post in a day or so what I really think when I get to a higher level. So far so good and no complaints.

MMORPGing

Well MMORPG’s for me have been on the back burner for a couple years now. I was really excited for Star Wars: the Old Republic but the monthly subscriptions pushed me away. In my previous geek life I played World of Warcraft (yeah I’ll admit it) and Guild Wars.

Recently I have been checking out Guild Wars 2 and can’t wait for its release (if it ever does). Between 8 professions and 5 races their is so much to choose from. It looks like the best MMORPG to date. I really hope Guild Wars 2 doesn’t disappoint. Check it out if you haven’t. Even if you aren’t into MMORPGs check it out anyways.

Back to Karkand

Yes another post about battlefield 3’s multiplayer but this is new content. For the first expansion of maps, guns, and vehicles I think Dice did a great job. My favorite part is the GUNS!

They don’t just unlock because of your rank or playing a class. Their are assignments to get each weapon. Each class has two guns to unlock and two all class guns. That’s ten assignments total. These assignments in my opinion are great. For someone like me who has reached the highest rank and finished each class it provides a new challenge.

For example the first assault assignment for the Famas is ten heals and ten revives, easy right? Well the second one for assault is harder. 20 underslung grenade launcher kills, 100 assault rifle kills and 5 team squad deathmatch wins. It’s not very hard but it will take much longer than the first one. You have to complete the first assignment before you can work on the second one. Great idea and I hope for the next DLC for BF3 they do something similar for guns to unlock.

I think Dice did an amazing job overall with this DLC. I would give Back to Karkand a 10 out of 10. Maps look great, great guns and challenges, and three cool vehicles.

Battlefield 3 multiplayer

I have posted about this a while back but this is my last one about it. A couple days ago I finished every class and ranked to the highest level to unlock everything. Compared to my friends I did it in almost half the time. I love this game and I will keep playing for a while. Fortunate for me come Tuesday I will have 4 new maps to play and 10 new guns to unlock. This game has hours of play time coming long after I have everything unlocked. I get a rush from playing with my friends and tearing it up. If you haven’t yet played it give it ago.

The New Xbox Dashboard

Well after it being delayed all day I got it.  Now I can’t get on Xbox Live.  My friends all have had the same problem.  I knew this but I decided to get it anyway because I figure by morning it will be fixed.  It looks good I guess.  I don’t understand the need to change it every year or so.

Now with this design it was delayed and obviously not working right either.  Why wouldn’t they make sure that Xbox Live works 100%.  We pay for this so we expect a finished working design.  Sometimes I don’t understand Microsoft but for some reason I stay loyal to them, except when it comes to phones (I got a Droid).  Oh well right?  Better be working by tomorrow evening so I can get my game on then.

Xbox Dashboard

I just read an article on G4tv’s app on my phone about Microsoft changing the dashboard… Again. I might be mistaken but won’t this be the fourth dashboard design since the 360’s release? I finally got use to the current dashboard and now they are switching it again. The design resembles the windows 7 phone layout with the block apps and such. I read that it will allow more Kinect menu features. That’s cool but what if you still don’t have one (like me). Look for a update December 6th for this and then more to fix the bugs following the release.

Skyrim and Werewolfs

Well after a couple days of play I hit level 10.  I have grasped the game more even though I have done barely anything.  My biggest accomplishment so far is that I have become a werewolf.  It’s pretty cool being able to become a werewolf whenever I want.

Back to the game though.  Like I said before in my past post the map is hugeeeeee.  There is so much to explore and do I don’t even really know where to begin.  Also with questing its the same.  There are so many quest out there I don’t know which ones I should do or not.  You find quest left and right just talking to people let alone continuing other quest.  Great game and I can see myself playing this for a while with breaks for BF3.  Can’t forget Battlefield now.

Skyrim Day 2

Yesterday was my second day with this amazing game. I only played for an hour and finished my first real quest. I love the game play. First of all I love that you can go into third or first person view. Very helpful at times being able to switch. Second I barely touched on how big the map is but I could already tell that it’s MASSIVE. Third you can do almost anything you want. I could kill everyone or rob them.

I can’t wait to play more over the next couple of days. After I really get into the game I will post up some more details.
